The ceremony was attended by Mr. Tran Luu Quang – Deputy Prime Minister of Vietnam, Mr. Le Hoai Trung – Head of the Central Committee’s Commission for External Relations; Mr. Le Truong Luu – Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People’s Council, Head of the National Assembly Delegation of Thua Thien Hue province; Mr. Nguyen Van Phuong – Chairman of the People’s Committee of Thua Thien Hue province, Mr. Iwamura Yasutsugu – President of AEON MALL, and representatives of central and local authorities of Vietnam and Japan.
AEON MALL Hue will be the first AEON MALL in the Central region, located in Hue City, Thua Thien Hue Province, the 3rd largest economic region of Vietnam. Hue city was officially expanded in 2021 with a population of more than 650,000 people. Thua Thien Hue is accelerating the progress of its plan to establish centrally governed municipality, expecting strong economic development in the future.
The shopping mall is located in An Van Duong New Urban Area, An Dong Ward, Hue City. With a total area of about 1700 hectares, the urban area was planned to be developed as an administrative, commercial, and residential center. Travel time from the city center to the project is approximately 15 minutes by car. With this favorable location, AEON MALL Hue will attract not only urban residents who use National Highway 1A and the ring road around Hue city; but also customers from neighboring areas after completion of the North-South expressway which is about 8 km west of the shopping mall.
The mall will create a lively and inspiring space and will serve as a regional infrastructure facility that supports the daily lives of local people and creates new lifestyles. In addition, AEONMALL Vietnam has been striving to become the first company to earn the LOTUS Gold certificate of LOTUS Green Building certification system of Vietnam, to realize a sustainable society.
Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Iwamura Yasutsugu – President of AEON MALL Japan shared: “AEON MALL Hue has been commenced as planned in the context of the Covid-19 pandemic causing many difficulties. This is an important milestone celebrating the 50 years of establishing diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Japan. With the business philosophy of “Life Design Producer”, we will do our best so that Aeon Mall Hue will not only provide infrastructure for the region, but also create spiritual enrichment for the people of Hue City as well as the neighboring communities”.
Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Van Phuong – Chairman of the People’s Committee of Thua Thien Hue province commented: “AEON MALL Hue will be the largest shopping mall in the Central region. We believed that the success of the AEON MALL Hue project would be a driving force for more and more Japanese investors to come to Thua Thien Hue”
Going forward, AEON MALL Vietnam will continue to promote the development of shopping malls in the Central region in addition to the North and South, devote itself to the sustainable economic development of Vietnam, contribute to the development of urban infrastructure, and attract more Japanese companies to the region.
