Not only receiving massive welcome from people in Thua Thien Hue province and the Central region, the Grand Opening Ceremony of the 7th shopping mall of AEON Group in Vietnam also received attention of both local and national authorities.
The ceremony was attended by Mr. Bui Nguyen Anh Tuan – Deputy Director of the Domestic Market Department, Ministry of Industry and Trade; Mr. Le Truong Luu – Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People’s Council, Head of the National Assembly Delegation of Thua Thien Hue province; Mr. Nguyen Van Phuong – Deputy Secretary of Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the People’s Committee of Thua Thien Hue province, Mr. Phan Quy Phuong – Vice Chairman of the People’s Committee of Thua Thien Hue province, Mr. Mori Takero – Consul General of Japan in Da Nang, Mr. Ohno Keiji – President of AEON MALL Co., Ltd., and representatives of central and local authorities of Vietnam and Japan.
AEON MALL Hue has a total site area of about 86,000m², offers about 140 stores with international and domestic brands, including: supermarkets and general stores, fashion, interior, home appliances, and amusement. Of which, 83 stores, equivalent to about 70% of the total stores, all gather for the first time to introduce a new shopping standard and a new lifestyle for local people.
The design concept, “Culture Stream,” envisions a space where people, nature, and culture gently connect and develop. The exterior design integrates imagery that connects the past (tradition) with the future (new urban Hue), overlapping with canals and mountain passes that link various regions, and expresses this through a Stream Line motif. Inside the shopping mall, many stores with typical features of the ancient capital will bring locals and tourists a feeling of familiarity, novelty and excitement.
Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Phan Quy Phuong – Vice Chairman of the People’s Committee of Thua Thien Hue province shared: “The opening of AEON MALL Hue today is an important event, marking the efforts of Thua Thien Hue province in promoting the early implementation of key projects, preparing infrastructure to ensure necessary institutions to become a centrally governed municipality in the future. We hope the shopping mall will operate effectively, bringing the best quality of service to people and tourists. At the same time, it will be a bridge, introducing many other investors – especially Japanese enterprises to invest in Thua Thien Hue”.
Mr. Mori Takero, Consul General of Japan in Da Nang affirmed “AEON MALL Hue is not only the first AEON MALL in the Central region, but also a project to promote the “Vietnam-Japan comprehensive strategic partnership” in the Central region of Vietnam. Once again, I would like to express my gratitude for the correct direction and great efforts of the Vietnamese government as well as the leaders of Thua Thien Hue province and Hue city.”
