Bac Giang Province is located in northern Vietnam which is about 1 hour drive from Hanoi – the capital of Vietnam, has a population of approximately 1.9 million. The province boasts well-developed expressways and national roads, ensuring easily accessibility from Hanoi and Noi Bai International Airport. Additionally, the construction of Ring Road No.5 in the future is expected to further enhance transportation and connectivity between Bac Giang and other provinces. The province’s mountainous area covers 380,000 hectares of natural beauty, and is a thriving area for agriculture and forestry, nurturing various delicious fruits such as lychees.

In recent years, Bac Giang Province has received high praise from both domestic and foreign companies for its administrative reform efforts, proactive attraction of foreign direct investment (FDI), leading to many Japanese companies now operating factories there. In 2022, the province recorded the highest growth rate of gross regional domestic product (GRDP) in the northern area, fostering many expectations for further economic development in the future.

Main content of the MOU is as follows:

  • Bac Giang Province and AEON MALL will strengthen mutual cooperation towards the development of a shopping mall in the province. Through investment in large-scale project, we aim to contribute to the enhancement of quality, service and living conditions for local residents, providing Japanese standard services and products.
  • Bac Giang Province will offer complete support and guidance to AEON MALL regarding related administrative procedures and processes to implement the project, and to provide necessary information for surveys and examinations to facilitate facility development.
  • To develop regional resources, AEON MALL will support local suppliers to enhance the quality and value of products, there by contributing to the export of Bac Giang Province’s prominent products to Japan. Furthermore, preferentially utilize the local labor force.

In addition to promoting in the South (Ho Chi Minh, Binh Duong), North (Ha Noi, Hai Phong) and Central (Hue) regions – the locality with the third largest economy in Vietnam, where we are currently operating our business, AEON MALL continues to promote investment in shopping malls in neighboring urban areas. Moving forward, our aim is to contribute to the sustainable and community development of Vietnam, which has achieved rapid economic growth in recent years, by expanding into local cities, we seek to further strengthen the foundation of our business in the country.
