The event was attended by Mr. Isobe Daisuke, General Director of AEONMALL Vietnam Co., Ltd.; Mr. Tezuka Daisuke, Executive Officer and Chief Vietnam Business Officer of AEON Co., Ltd. and General Director of AEON Vietnam Co., Ltd.; as well as representatives from news agencies and media organizations.

Following the opening of AEON MALL Danang Thanh Khe in July 2026, AEON MALL Thanh Hoa and AEON MALL Ha Long are expected to become the 9th and 10th shopping malls invested in and operated by AEONMALL Vietnam in the country.

Each Shopping mall begins with the local community

For AEON MALL, expanding its network is not simply about increasing the number of shopping malls. It is also about understanding and responding to the unique needs of each local area. From Thanh Hoa to Ha Long, the two projects have been developed with different directions. While AEON MALL Thanh Hoa focuses on creating a space that connects families and communities, AEON MALL Ha Long aims to bring together modern lifestyles, experiences, tourism and the distinctive values of the heritage region.

Speaking at the press conference, Mr. Isobe Daisuke, General Director of AEONMALL Vietnam Co., Ltd., said: “Vietnam is one of AEON MALL’s key markets in Southeast Asia. We will continue to expand our shopping mall network in Vietnam while developing each mall in line with the characteristics and needs of its local community. We hope that AEON MALL will become more than just a place for shopping. We want each mall to become part of people’s daily lives, creating new value together with local communities and contributing to sustainable development over the long term.

In addition to developing spaces for shopping, dining, entertainment and experiences, both projects place a strong focus on disaster preparedness from the design and construction stages. This approach builds on the experience of AEON MALL Hue, with the aim of enhancing safety for customers and employees while maintaining stable mall operations under adverse weather conditions.

Proactively preparing for potential risks is part of how AEON MALL puts its “Customer First” philosophy into practice, not only by providing convenience in customers’ daily lives, but also by building the capacity to support customers and local communities over the long term.

AEON MALL Thanh Hoa: A Hub connecting families and communities

Scheduled to open on October 15, 2026, and officially inaugurate on October 18, 2026, AEON MALL Thanh Hoa is located in Quang Phu Ward, Thanh Hoa Province. The mall has a site area of approximately 105,000 m², a total floor area of approximately 120,000 m², and a leasable area of approximately 52,000 m².

With the concept of “Family and Community Hub,” AEON MALL Thanh Hoa is designed as a familiar destination for everyday life, where family members can shop, play, enjoy sports and spend quality time together.

The mall is expected to feature more than 130 specialty stores, with over 60% of brands making their first appearance in Thanh Hoa, offering customers more choices across shopping, dining, entertainment and lifestyle.

One of the key highlights is an approximately 10,000 m² indoor sports and entertainment area, including five indoor pickleball courts on the second floor – the first pickleball courts introduced at an AEON MALL. The space is designed to support sports, recreation and social activities for a wide range of customers.

Another highlight is “Green Bamboo Oasis,” an approximately 60-meter-long open space within the urban environment, combining greenery, fountains, water features and lighting to create a refreshing setting for customers.

The design harmonizes with Thanh Hoa’s natural landscape and local characteristics

The spirit of family connection is also reflected in spaces designed for children and families, inspired by Mokuiku, an educational approach that encourages children to learn through experiences with wood and nature. Dining, entertainment and lifestyle facilities are arranged to encourage people of different generations to enjoy experiences together in one destination.

As part of its preparations for opening, AEON MALL Thanh Hoa is also strengthening partnerships with local businesses, organizations and institutions, with the aim of building long-term connections with the local community and Thanh Hoa’s economic ecosystem.

AEON MALL Ha Long: Connecting Lifestyle, Experiences and the Heritage Region

While the story of AEON MALL Thanh Hoa begins with families and communities, AEON MALL Ha Long has been developed with a focus on connecting modern lifestyles with tourism experiences and the distinctive values of the heritage region.

Scheduled to open on November 11, 2026, and officially inaugurate on November 14, 2026, AEON MALL Ha Long is located at 288 Cai Lan Street, Bai Chay Ward, Quang Ninh Province, with a site area of approximately 91,000 m², a total floor area of approximately 130,000 m², and a leasable area of approximately 54,000 m².

The shopping mall is expected to feature approximately 140 specialty stores, including brands such as UNIQLO, MUJI, Galaxy Cinema, Kohnan and Fahasa. More than 50% of the brands are expected to make their first appearance in the area, expanding choices for local residents while offering visitors another destination to enjoy during their stay in Ha Long.

The design of AEON MALL Ha Long draws inspiration from the coastal city and its heritage surroundings. Sunken Garden and Forest Market create open spaces for customers, while performances at Sunken Garden combine LED screens, lighting and projection mapping to bring the imagery of Ha Long Bay into modern experiences at the mall.

Another highlight is HÔ HÔ Hall, an “Entertainment Dining” concept that combines food and entertainment. Inspired by Ha Long Bay, the space brings together a variety of cuisines, including Vietnamese, Japanese and Thai, turning dining into an experience for both local residents and visitors.

With the concept “A Place Where Everyone Finds What They Love,” AEON MALL Ha Long aims to become a new destination in Quang Ninh, where shopping, dining, entertainment and modern lifestyles meet the distinctive values of the heritage region.

Two shopping malls, two local stories, one spirit of Co-Creation

Although AEON MALL Thanh Hoa and AEON MALL Ha Long are being developed during the same period, they are not based on the same formula.

In Thanh Hoa, the story begins with families, communities and the need for a familiar space that fits naturally into everyday life. In Ha Long, the story expands to lifestyle, experiences and tourism, bringing together modern living with the distinctive values of the heritage region.

This difference reflects AEON MALL’s consistent approach: each mall should be created from and for the community where it is located. From brand selection and spatial design to facilities and preparations for situations that may affect safety and mall operations, each element is considered based on the characteristics of the local area.

With AEON MALL Thanh Hoa and AEON MALL Ha Long scheduled to open in the final months of 2026, AEONMALL Vietnam continues to expand its network across the country while entering a new stage of its “Co-creator” journey – creating new value together with customers, partners and local communities, so that each mall becomes not simply a presence in a city, but a meaningful part of the community it serves.
